In 2015, Waterstreet Studio partnered with the award-winning Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden to develop master plans and detailed construction drawings for the Morton Garden, a native plants demonstration garden. Collaborating with Garden staff sub-committees, Virginia native species were strategically placed to screen views, treat stormwater, and buffer noise from nearby mechanical equipment. The design incorporated Virginia quarried granite and native black locust wood to detail an event terrace outside the Garden’s ballroom and library, enhancing both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The garden serves as a model for sustainable design and native plant use in landscaping.
